New Study Plan

The Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics program at the Faculty of Languages and Translation is designed for individuals with a passion for language and a desire to deepen their knowledge in this field. This rigorous program includes courses in language structure, second language acquisition and teaching, discourse analysis, research methodology, and more.

Throughout the program, students will engage in advanced academic reading and writing, and gain an in-depth understanding of theories and schools of linguistics. They will also explore current issues in language and technology, as well as issues in Arabic applied linguistics.

In the second year of the Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics program, students will delve deeper into advanced topics in the field, including current issues in language and technology, issues in Arabic applied linguistics, advanced discourse analysis, and designing and constructing research work. They will also learn about applied statistics in language research and work on an independent seminar project.

These courses will provide students with a deep understanding of the latest research and developments in applied linguistics, preparing them for careers in academia, research, and other fields that require language expertise. Graduates of this program will be equipped with advanced research skills and a comprehensive understanding of the field of applied linguistics, enabling them to make significant contributions to the study of language and communication.
