The Master of Arts in Translation program offers a single major track program “Master of Arts in Translation." The program duration is two years divided into four levels (semesters). The program has been following NCAAA standards and aspires to obtain accreditation in the near future. Currently, there are no alternative tracks offered by the department.
Given that King Khalid University aims at developing academic well-trained high-level manpower to serve the needs of the Saudi society and aid its progress, the need for a Master’s program in translation is considered necessary for a number of economic, social and cultural reasons, technological developments, and national policy developments. Amongst which are the following:
- To fill the gap created by the lack of specialized and highly qualified translators;
- To provide opportunities for students wishing to continue their postgraduate studies in the field of Translation in the Kingdom;
- To offer consultation services, both scientific and practical, to individuals, governmental and non-governmental institutions in the field of translation;
- To fulfill the Kingdom's needs for qualified experts in translation and cross-cultural communication.
