Cross Cultural Communication and Subsequent Diffusion of Loanwords
Dr. Nisar Ahmed Koka presented his research paper at a seminar held on March 28, 2016, which was organized by Language Research Center. His paper was titled Cross-Cultural Communication and Subsequent Diffusion of Loanwords. The aim of his study was to investigate the extent loanwords of Arabic flow into the Kashmiri language. He focused on the fact that in cross-cultural communication, lexical borrowing is a common phenomenon. He primarily covered examples of lexis in the domain of religion.
It is worth mentioning that the Al Samer Female Campus also joined the seminar through video conferencing. The seminar was very interactive and informative.
